About us

The Waikato Interfaith Council  / TeTiaho Uenuku,

is based in Hamilton New Zealand. Our aim is to bring together people of different faiths and spiritual practices, to celebrate our diverse traditions without proselytising, to learn from each other to share knowledge, to demonstrate respect, good will and compassion towards each other and to promote and practice these values and ideals through community action.

We have undertaken a number of Interfaith and community initiatives and projects since our establishment in 1994.

Interfaith Services

WIFCO organises an annual Interfaith Service, usually  around October. We call for contributors from a variety of faith backgrounds to offer a prayer, a poem, an inspiration, some music or song. For the dates of our next Interfaith Service, check our events page.

Interfaith Forums, panels and presentations.

New Zealand has a number of regional interfaith groups and initiatives, and we come together bi-annually in a National Forum. Here, a diverse range of representatives as well as international guests assemble for fellowship, to present items, talk about local initiatives, share ideas and research, participate in discussion panels, share cultural perspectives and undertake various actions. WIFCO has participated in, organised and hosted several of the National and Regional Forums.
